Lauren Kelsey Spraker
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #128012). I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science from University of California, Santa Barbara and completed my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California.
Currently I have the privilege of providing individual therapy sessions to people in varying stages of life. I specialize in Womens issues such as infertility, unexpected pregnancy and coparenting. I have clinical counseling experience working with young adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, life transitions and suicidal ideation through my work as a therapist at Concordia University. I have also worked with children in the areas of developing social skills and emotional awareness, and teaching coping skills and mindfulness.
Because every person is shaped by their unique experiences, my therapy approach varies client to client. In session I will use psychodynamic & attachment theory to understand how my client’s history plays into who they are today. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work on the here and now changes they want to work towards. I enjoy utilizing interventions from the modalities of Art, Experiential, and Narrative therapies depending on the presented need in session.
I practice at Addiction Therapy Newport Beach and I am supervised under Ipek Aykol (LMFT # 97315).
